8 years of Bush/Cheney

Harry Truman said, “No man should be allowed to be president who doesn’t understand hogs.” That’s never been more true than it will be for the man or woman who walks into the White House on January 20, 2009.

If you’ve ever entered an enclosed, industrialized hog facility where hundreds of fattening porcines live out their short lives, you know that the smell of pig excrement completely redefines “stink.” This stench will knock you to your knees, sear your lungs and brain, and make you scream for mercy. For nearly eight years, the White House has been a confined hog pen for corporate porkers, right-wing ideologues, imperialists, autocrats, and other swinish mess-makers. America’s next president must not only set a new direction but will also have to clean up the mess and eradicate the stink left by the Bushites.

  1. …and even just a little digging will reveal that a McCain presidency will be like voting Bush into office a third term. And if Clinton gets voted into office, there will have been a Bush or a Clinton in office for 24 years (28 if Hillary makes it two terms). When are Americans going to wake up?

  2. Let’s make a gentlemen’s deal: how about if we divide the country in two along an agreed-upon line, with one half ruled by Buchanan / Coulter or whoever we right wing traditionalists pick, and the other by whomever your side likes. Obama/Dean is fine by me. Peaceful and voluntary population transfers, details to be worked out amicably and fairly. Deal?

As a bonus, you can have Bush (and McCain) and do what you like with both of them. We don’t want them.

  3. PA’s comment indicates that he is happy with the way the country is now and that he agrees with the last 8 years of Bush policies. I will be glad to be in the “other” part of the country, beings that it will represent about 90% of the land mass. Latest polls indicate that only 10% of the population agrees with W. Why did it take so friggin’ long for people to finally get it?

  4. Webmaster’s note: I don’t know where the “possibly related posts” came from. WordPress had better stop inserting content into the blogs.

  5. Yoy are conflating two unrelated things: Bush and conservative traditionalism.

In my original post I proposed a covservative/liberal split, not a Bush/anti-Bush split. This would result in something close to a 50/50 divide.
