Terrorist or Patriot?

All the votes have been counted in the Minnesota Senate race between Al Franken and Republican Norm Coleman: Al Franken won. Every time Norm Coleman has demanded new vote counts or challenged “suspected” ballots, the margin of victory for Al has increased. This Coleman character probably threw tantrums every time he lost a game of marbles in grade school.

You would think that losing would be enough for Norm to concede the race, but it isn’t. DC Republicans are encouraging him to drag this election out for as long as possible, and they’re willing to bankroll new court challenges to keep it going. Oh, Republicans in DC know Al Franken won. But for them, it’s worth it to keep shelling out money to block another Democratic vote in support of President Obama.

In other words, Republicans want the elected government to fail. They would rather block attempts to clean up the mess left by the previous administration. They are doing everything they can to sabotage O’s efforts. Sounds to me like something a terrorist would do.

  1. Why don’t you just be honest and say what you really want — a left wing dictatorship under an Obama figurehead, and branding as enemies of the state your fellow Americans who aren’t supporting his ambitions of creating Socialism.

  2. Oh, just as Bush and his ilk branded as enemies those who protested their tortuous, rapacious, and destructive policies? How do you think we got to the sorry state we’re in today? We’re in such an unbelievable mess that I don’t think one administration will be able fix it. If you are representative at all of Right-Wing thinking, then this country is in deep trouble.

  3. We got to the sorry state we are in today because Bush and his neocon faction of the Republican party had fully internalized every politically correct notion that the Left has been pushing since the 60s.

There’s a reason the Dems are called “the evil party” and the Repubs are called “the stupid party.”

Nevertheless, your response to me doesn’t answer my question about your endorsement of a left-wing dictatorship and criminalizing Americans who aren’t Socialists.

  4. I’m sorry… I don’t know how to answer that. A “left-wing dictatorship” is your own interpretation, and I don’t know who Obama has put in jail for not being a “socialist.”
